Principal Marcello Lopez

Dear Shenandoah EEC families and community,

It is a profound honor to serve as your Principal. As a native Angelino and proud LAUSD alum, my roots in this district run deep. I am thrilled to give back to the West LA community that helped shape me, and I am committed to ensuring our youngest learners have the same—and even better—opportunities for success.
My journey in education spans over 20 years, driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of early childhood development. With a B.A. in History, a Masters in Early Childhood Special Education, and a Masters in Educational Leadership, my focus has always been on creating inclusive environments where every child, regardless of their starting point, can flourish.
At Shenandoah Early Education Center, we are dedicated to:
  • Strategic Excellence: Our mission is directly aligned with the LAUSD Strategic Plan, specifically focusing on Pillar 1: Academic Excellence and Pillar 2: Joy and Wellness. We ensure our students are "Ready for the World" by fostering literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth from day one.
  • Developmentally Appropriate Practices: We believe children learn best through play, exploration, and structured engagement. Our expert staff utilizes research-based, developmentally appropriate practices to meet children where they are and stretch their potential in a nurturing environment.
  • Specialized Support: Given my background in Special Education, I am particularly passionate about early intervention and ensuring that our school is a safe, supportive space for all diverse learners.
  • Community Partnership: A school is only as strong as its relationships. We view our families as essential partners in this journey and strive to create a collaborative atmosphere where every voice is heard and valued.
I look forward to working alongside you to provide a joyful and rigorous foundation for our children. Together, we are building the future of our West Los Angeles community.

With gratitude and school pride,

Marcello Lopez, M.A. Ed., ECSE
